Welcome to Anvilstone Dog Training

Not just dog training. We train people too.

About Anvilstone Dog Training

Located in North Devon near the small market town of South Molton,  Anvilstone dog training is based on a small organic sheep and cattle farm.

Privately owned rolling fields, meadows, and rivers give way to acres of mature ancient oak woodland, all perfect location for different types of dog training and dog handling.

The farmhouse, dog barns and kennels are set in the midst of our own grounds.

The location, with the variety of habitats is perfect for training all types, shapes and sizes of dogs, in almost any discipline. Whether it’s general obedience, lead pulling, search work, deer stalking, gun dog work, dog/people aggression, confidence building, or focus training.

Anvilstone dog training is also home to the well known Anvilstone German wire haired pointers. We are 5 star council approved accredited breeders of GWPs and Drahthaars.

The kennels, farm and cottage are all owned and run by Ian who is well known in the HPR world for his superb working dogs and his ability to train dogs and their owners.

Ian, who has 20 years experience in breeding, training and working wire haired pointers and has a level 3 qualification in training people, runs the dog and human training facility.

We work on high quality, small numbers, – 5 maximum, and total customer satisfaction in everything we do.

If your dog doesn’t need training but they want a holiday, they can enjoy a canine structured break running free or on leads in the countryside alongside other dogs with similar sizes, ages and physical levels. Depending on the dog, age and size, they can live in the farmhouse next to the range, or outside where its cooler in the summer months.
