Welcome to Anvilstone Dog Training

Not just dog training. We train people too.

Residential and Dog Training in the South Lakes

Located in the southern Lake District near the small market town of Kirkby Lonsdale, Anvilstone Dog Training is based on a sheep farm on the side of a limestone fell. Privately owned rolling fields, meadows and rivers give way to fellside and felltop vistas, perfect for different types of training and handling.

We specialise in short haired and wire haired pointers and vizslas but we also work with all dog breeds including malinois, dobermann and other large breeds as well as smaller dogs.

At Anvilstone we have been breeding, training and working wire haired pointers for over 20 years. We understand that every dog is different and all our training is done in a calm, structured way with positive reinforcement, frequent breaks, and close attention to the dog’s physical and mental well being.
